- Sep. 3, 1783 - The
United States gains what is currently Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan,
Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and parts of Alabama, Georgia, Minnesota,
Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia as a
result of the Treaty of Paris 1783.
- Nov. 2, 1783 - The
Continental Army is disbanded.
- Aug. 8, 1786 - The
Continental Congress adopts the "Dollar" and decimal coinage.
- Feb. 21, 1787 - The
Continental Congress adopts a resolution calling for a convention of state
delegates to draw up a change to the Articles of Confederation.
