Wrong Way Corrigan Day
Douglas Groce Corrigan boarded his monoplane and left Brooklyn, New York on July 17, 1938 on his way to Los Angeles, California. With no radio or sophisticated navigational equipment he landed in Dublin, Ireland some 28 hours later! He was immediately dubbed "Wrong Way Corrigan"! His excuse....."I was following the wrong end of my compass needle"!
